One last rest stop before the last leg home...
Time to head out, but we'll be back to visit. We often ride through here, we cant stay away from the beautiful scenery.
Moment of silence for our friend...You can almost see the entire span of the bridge from here.
Shorty after we spread Kilo's ashes we had a stingray jump out of the water. It was huge! I took it as a welcome sign. I think we picked the right spot for Kilo.

Godspeed Kilo

Getting ready to spread the ashes...
Look at this water...

By the way, the old bridge is on the right and is off limits to vehicles. The newer bridge is on the left hand side.
Blue skies and blue water to greet our friend.

The palm trees here are still trying to recover from the recent storms
Banks of the bridge
These stairs lead to the seashore below
Esther holds Kilo while we take our places.

The ladies on the ride..myself, Terri and Esther.
The boys on the ride.. Gil on the left met Kilo at the last Hacienda bash last year, next to him is Rick, Gerry, Cyrus and my brother.
Rick and myself
This is my husband Rick. After about 100 miles S. on US1 we arrived at the bridge...
Once we passed all of the mangroves along the beginning of the highway, I noticed something was different. The water was the most beautiful hue of Turquoise. I don't think that I've ever seen the water around here like this before. I kept taking off my sunglasses thinking that it was an affect from the lenses, but no.. it was real. Looks like the big guy upstairs had planned a special welcome for this leg of Kilo's ride.
We were well on our way and I knew that it was going to be a special day..
A group of friends came along for the ride to offer their support.
I'm honored to be able to carry out part of Kilo's last wish. Rick and I decided that the ideal place would be the 7 Mile bridge in Marathon, Florida. The view is breath taking, you can walk on the old bridge and look out over the water... it has a beautiful sunrise and sunset.

It was a beautiful day for a ride today, one of the best day's I've seen in a long time. It was in the 90's but there was a constant breeze that accompanied us through out the day.
